Bangladesh Environment Network has recently funded a safe drinking water project for the flood victims in the Teesta Area. BAPA leader Faridul Islam supervised the installation of twenty tube wells at various villages in the area. The locations were identified through a field survey by BAPA volunteers. Tube well installation events were followed by town hall style meetings titled “Life: River and Environment.”
This is the third installment of the BEN relief fund in the area following the unfortunate flash flood of October 2020. The two earlier BEN-BAPA disaster support initiatives included the disbursement of cash worth BD Taka one lakh and distribution of blankets worth BD Taka two lakhs. BEN collected BD Taka three lakhs for these relief efforts. In addition, BD Taka two lakhs were allocated from the BEN reserve fund for the Teesta flood victims.
