BEN holds regular monthly meetings on the last Saturday of the month at a time that is convenient to most time zones around the globe, currently at 10 AM US Eastern Time. IG and CC convene in separate meetings in alternate months. The last such meeting was held on December 31, Saturday, 2022. BEN Global Coordinator (GC) Md. Khalequzzaman joined from Dhaka along with BAPA GS Sharif Jamil. Muhitur Rahman bhai joined from LA where he was travelling. Utpaul Dutta and Murshadul Hakim Shuvro bhai joined from Atlanta, GA. Mohammod Irfan joined from Elk Grove, CA.
Md. Khalequzzaman (MK) updated BEN leaders on various preparatory work for the large BAPA-BEN events, a rally and a one-day conference to be held in Dhaka on Jan 13 and Jan 14, 2023, respectively. Khalequzzaman told the meeting he has been joining the BAPA preparatory meetings at the district and divisional level. BEN founder Nazrul Islam was travelling towards Dhaka from NY at the moment, Khaleq said. BEN GC requested BEN members to join the meetings of various conference organizational committees.
Mohammod Irfan gave an update on the January 2023 webinar. Hossain Azam is organizing a webinar on sustainable transportation in Bangladesh and the potential for electric mobility.
There was a discussion on the draft of a new constitution for BEN. Muhitur Rahman suggested that the BEN leaders who drafted the constitution can now incorporate the various suggestions, as applicable, and produce a revision to the IG.
Utpaul Dutta and Murshadul Hakim Shuvro informed CC of an upcoming discussion event in Atlanta organized by the BEN, Southern US chapter. The meeting titled “Role of Immigrants in Bangladesh’s Environmental Conservation” will be held on February 04, 2023.
