BEN ENVIRONMENT NEWSLETTER, Year 18, No. 12 (December 2021) |
| |
This is the last of our monthly newsletters for the year 2021. With new variants COVID-19 continues to affect many parts of the world like the previous year despite the prevention and cure pioneered by the scientists. BEN sympathizes with those affected by the ongoing pandemic. On one hand, the pandemic alerted us about the infection-risk impacts of our relationship to other species on the Earth and the planetary ecosystem. On the other hand, it opened our eyes to the direct connection between human activities and environmental pollution. We hope 2022 will bring much better results in fighting the pandemic and other perils that threaten our species. BEN will start the year with the annual BAPA-BEN conference to be held on February 10-11, 2022. This issue of the newsletter covers the preparatory activities for the upcoming conference as well as other BAPA-BEN activities in December. We start with a new year note from BEN founder Dr. S. Nazrul Islam. Wish all our readers a great 2022, which also happens to be the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development! |
