World Earth Day was observed by the Moheshkhali regional branch of the Bangladesh Environmental Movement (BAPA) on April 22, with various slogans and festoons in hand to create awareness for environmental protection and climate change prevention.
The program for World Earth Day was held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22, at the Afzaliapara CNG Station in Kalarmarchhara Union of the upazila. The event was presided over by Alhaj Maulana Md. Shahab Uddin, a member of BAPA’s Moheshkhali regional branch, and moderated by its General Secretary, Abu Bakkar Siddique.
Speakers at the event included BAPA Moheshkhali members Master Emran Sarwar and Jahangir Alam; Nurul Kader, President of the Kohelia Fishermen’s Cooperative Society; General Secretary Safur Alam; Joint Secretary Sarwar Kamal; environmental activist M.A. Hannan; and local social worker Osman Gani. People from various walks of life were also present at the gathering.
